An update to the MedRez.net Scheduling Tool with a focus on the Call/Shfit Schedule Randomizer has been released.
The update makes the Randomizer far more capable and should result in better generated schedules whether you are making shift schedules or call schedules.
The new Randomizer has a sharper set of tools at its disposal, including the ability to back out of difficult situations making it less likely to give you an unfinished schedule.
In addition, the Randomizer now works with a set of priorities that match the real world of scheduling: a fully filled out schedule with no duty-hour violations is the first priority, while Tally Targets, quality of progressive schedule, and general fairness and balance are each of lower priority. This ensures that the schedule you get from the Randomizer is as useful to you as the Randomizer can make it.
An updated user interface to the Randomizer accompanies this update and is shown below:
Finally, this release improves the performance of the Call and Shift Scheduling back-end. You should notice that the time to load schedules is diminished.
