  • Residents on vacation or other rotation covering shifts

Dear Oliver,

I have a resident who has an event they are going to and needed coverage for a shift. A resident who is on a different rotation (elective) has a day off then and is covering the shift. How can I put the off-service resident in for a single shift, since they are on a separate rotation? Since the master schedule has them on a separate rotation the resident does not pre-populate into the available residents for the schedule. Thanks!

Ryan

    Hi Ryan,

The trick here is to manually add the off service resident to the block, and then to the shift.

To add the resident to the block:

    - start from your account's home page.

    - click edit for the schedule you want to add them to.

    - click on the "residents" tab at the top right of the page

    - add the resident to the block by clicking in the grid at the appropriate place. The resident is in the block if it's white.

Then you can edit that block to add the resident to the shift.

    I hope that helps.
