Randomizer for entire year at once?

Hi,

I don't think any prior chiefs at our program have actually tried to use the randomizer for our call schedule before. I'd like to try!

The trouble I'm having is with tallies--basically, it's not important to me how many calls a resident does over the course of a month-long block, but rather I really only care how many calls they complete in a year.

It seems like I can only set tally goals per block--there's no easy way that I can find to set them for the entire year. Then again, there may be an easy fix that I'm not seeing 2/2 sleep deprivation.

Do I just need to make a year-long block instead of carving the year up into months? I feel like I might lose some important information by doing that (and I also didn't really want to try the experiment and risk messing up the annual rotations, vacations, and holiday calls I'd already manually inputted).

Hi Rachel,

You are correct you can only set Tally Targets on individual blocks. You can however see the totals of Tally Results (the number of times actually worked) for the entire year for each resident. This should help you decide where to set the Target at each Block.

I do not recommend making one year-long block. You will lose more than you gain. Year-long blocks quickly become too difficult to manage.
