Reuse old shifts

We use Med Rez to schedule our Lunch Conference Lectures. I am unable to reuse old shift's from block 1 when making the lecture schedule for block 2. Anyone encounter this? There are about 20 different shift's I wonder if this is too many.

I took a look at your schedule. I think the reuse system is having a hard time figuring out what to make of your pattern of shifts. The reuse system looks for shifts that occur regularly week after week. If a shift only takes place once or twice during the block it's hard to deduce a pattern from which a new set of shifts can be created in the new Block.

The reuse system works well for the majority of typical cases, but in a situation like this, where you have a large number of different shifts that take place only once in a while it is unable to work.

Replying to an old thread because I am also having major issues with this feature. My hospital uses 4 week blocks. Our shift structure is very complex within each block, but it repeats itself faithfully from block-to-block. This seems like it should be extremely simple for the "reuse shift" feature because all I am trying to do is copy the exact same shift structure, but MedRez adds literally hundreds of extra shifts when I try to "reuse" the previous block.

Can you just provide a toggle to turn off the "smartness" of this feature? I should be able to copy shifts 1:1 from block to block as long as the blocks are of the same length, no? MedRez is looking for weekly patterns where none exist.

As noted above, the reuse system works well for typical cases. Unfortunately if your shift structure is very complex, it's likely it will miss the mark on occasion.

I will look at the possibility of adding a toggle to reuse the block directly without smartness in a future upgrade.
