Hi everyone,
I just uploaded a fix for the issue of shifted times in Google Calendar when using a schedule feed from MedRez.net.
Google has not and will never fix its faulty interpretation of ICS feeds so I gave in and created a workaround. I know some of you have been waiting for me to do this for a long time, and for that I am sorry.
As you might remember Google interprets calendar feeds that do not specify a time zone as taking place in Greenwich Mean Time. This is absurd and every other calendar application understands that times are the user's local time.
The only way around this is to specify a time zone in the feed. So that's what you can now do in MedRez.net.
Schedule administrators: please log in to the scheduling tool, and click the "settings" link at the top right of the page. In the account settings page, edit the publishing settings and select your time zone.
Calendar applications should show the improved feed when they refresh their data. This can take a few hours. Users who did not have a problem should not notice much difference in the feed.
Time zones and calendar feeds are prickly to program (one of the reasons I resisted doing this), so there is a chance I broke the feed for another application while fixing Google's. If you notice any problems, please reply below or email support@Medrez.net.
I hope this improves your experience of using MedRez.net.
Kind regards,
