map shifts to rotations

I cannot get a specific shift to map to a rotation. I have added the shifts to areas labeled same as rotations. The random fill will not use the designated rotations (also areas) to fill the shifts but instead uses all the designated Resident PGY to fill the shifts. Thus even those not on rotation will be added to the shifts. How do I map or link the shifts to a rotation?

Hi miullid,

Thank you for writing here. While I answered your email, for the benefit of others l will repeat the main element here: make sure Areas have all the relevant shifts included in them. If a shift is not assigned to any Areas, it is treated as "any Area" and the Randomizer will add residents to it regardless of the resident's Areas.
