That's odd, though it might depend on the configuration of your schedule. Also, it depends on the starting point. If you assigned residents to shifts before running the randomizer, those pre-filled shifts will remain as is. The Randomizer won't remove residents that have already been added. So if you start the Randomizer while there are already duty hour violations in the schedule, there will still be violations after the randomizer has run.
Having said that I don't know what's causing your problem. Please email support@medrez.net and tell me the name of the resident you're having trouble with, along with the schedule and block. Also let me know the state of the schedule when you start the randomizer (completely empty or other).
