Starting with the introduction of this forum users of modern browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Apple Safari will see subtle enhancements to the look and feel of MedRez.net compared to other browsers.
See below for examples of differences in the look of the MedRez.net Support Forums between browsers:
More differences similar to the examples above will appear in future versions of the Scheduling Tool and the Schedule Viewer. However note that the enhancements for Firefox, Safari and Chrome are strictly cosmetic and do not affect the functionality of MedRez.net.
Why are there differences?
The differences are the result of the greater capabilities of modern browsers. Modern browsers can produce wonderful visual elements such as drop shadows, rounded corners and gradients very efficiently. Creating these same visuals in other browsers is difficult and time consuming and results in slower loading pages, higher server load, and much greater development and maintenance overhead.
What about recent versions of Internet Explorer? What about IE9?
No version of Microsoft's Internet Explorer web browser supports the standards used to create these visual enhancements. Not even Internet Explorer version 9, which is currently in Beta.
Can I continue to use Internet Explorer on MedRez.net?
Yes, absolutely. Internet Explorer will continue to be a supported browser as long as people use it. There will be no compromise to the functionality of the program through these enhancements. The only differences you will notice are cosmetic.
