  • Manage multiple tracks, rotating residents

We have a program with PGY1s in the following categories:

Categorical

Preliminary

Medicine/Pediatrics

Psychiatry

Anesthesia Preliminary

Is it possible in a future release to be able to identify them this way and allow tallies specific to their category? For example, if we could tally 14 weeks of floor for a categorical resident and 18 weeks for a preliminary resident. The "Other" choice doesn't work because it removes them from the pool of PGY1s.

    Hello SBChiefs,

    Thank-you for the suggestion.

Tagging residents would make things a bit faster, but keep in mind that you can create Tally Targets individually for arbitrary sets of residents. So if you know who the Preliminary PGY1s are you can select them and set their target to 18 weeks without affecting the other resident's targets.

      Oliver,

Could you walk me through doing this? Right now they are all listed as PGY-1s. When I create a tally the choices are PGY-1, Intern, Other, etc. Where can I select individual residents?

I figured it out. For anyone interested, you click on the individual tally next to the intern's name in the schedule view. A follow up question, is there a way to modify these for multiple residents at once? Right now it's painstaking for a rotation that applies to only 4 residents because you must manually set everyone else's target to zero. If there's an easier way, please let me know.

          Hello SBchiefs,

Yes, you can set targets for multiple residents at once. After you click on a resident's tally, click "show all residents". Then you can select multiple residents just by clicking on them. Setting the target will apply to all selected residents.

Naturally it's easiest to set the default to 0 for all residents then customize the target for the 4 residents who are different.

          I hope that helps.
